Bannon warns of ‘big fight’ over direction of Trump campaign, attempts to force Nikki Haley on the ticket

by

A “big fight” is headed to the election campaign of former President Donald Trump on the choice of his running mate in the 2024 race to the White House.

That is according to Steve Bannon, the former Trump White House chief strategist who suggested that by the spring, there would be an open push to get Nikki Haley lined up as Trump’s vice presidential pick.

“We’re gonna have a big fight that will take place in the spring,” he declared on the Human Events with Jack Posobiec podcast Monday.

“They’re gonna try to force Nikki on the ticket. They’ll say Trump needs a woman, Nikki on the ticket, she balances things and she can bring together that 15% of Never Trumpers in the Republican Party,” Bannon predicted.

“We’re going to have to have that fight. If Nikki Haley is in this administration in any capacity, it will fail,” Bannon declared.

“She’s a viper. She’s a viper and once she gets in there, she’ll try to run it as prime minister. She’ll try to be Dick Cheney. Her to Trump will be just like Dick Cheney to Bush. That’s what she’ll try to do,” he added.

Bannon’s fears echo those of other Trump allies who have expressed their open opposition to Haley as a running mate. Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson vowed last month that he would “advocate against it as strongly as I could.” when asked about a Trump-Haley ticket.

“That’s just poison,” Carlson added. “Here’s somebody who’s actively opposed to the interests of the country I grew up in, who endorsed the [Black Lives Matter] riots, and who is not left but is neoliberal in the darkest, most nihilistic way, and has no real popular support and is a creature of the oligarchs.”

Even the former president’s own son has come out saying he would “go to great lengths to make sure” that the former United Nations ambassador and current GOP candidate does not end up as his father’s vice president.

“I wouldn’t have her and I would go to great lengths to make sure that that doesn’t happen,” Donald Trump Jr. told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling. “Nikki Haley wants never-ending wars. She’s a puppet of the establishment in Washington, D.C. She’s the new favorite candidate of the billionaire class because they want control—no different than academia and Harvard and using their billions to exercise influence.”

As for the former president, he has not indicated that he favors Haley or any of the other candidates to be his running mate and has repeatedly downplayed questions about who he would choose, saying he is focused on winning.

  1. I believe Trump will lose a lot of votes if Nikki Haley is on his ticket (or has a prominent spot in his administration). Kari Lake would be great.

  2. Does anyone think that Trump can be forced to do anything.
