Biden battles teleprompter again, tells really bad jokes about Trump

by

President Joe Biden took a few swings at his predecessor and likely election challenger during a speech in Washington, D.C. that also produced another awkward moment with the teleprompter.

The 81-year-old Democrat told the North America’s Building Trades Unions conference that former President Donald Trump needs to be punched and mocked his hair as well, sounding more like he was back in middle school than being commander-in-chief.

After getting the union’s endorsement for his re-election bid, Biden told those gathered Wednesday that Trump “looks down on us,” before suggesting how he should be handled.

“Think about the guys you grew up with who you would like to get into the corner and just give them a straight left,” Biden said. “I’m not suggesting we hit the president. But we all knew guys like that growing up.”

Biden may have thought he was at a comedy roast after that as he took more jabs at Trump.

“By the way, remember when he was trying to deal with COVID and he said just inject a little bleach in your veins?” he asked “He missed – it all went to his hair.”

“I shouldn’t have said that,” he laughed, telling the insult-loving audience, “You guys are a bad influence on me.”

The gaffe-master could not get through another scripted event without some kind of battle with his words, or in one case, the words on the teleprompter.

“Four More Years? Pause?”‘ he read, obviously repeating the word that was actually an instruction.

The speech was not without its other challenges:

The disastrous, but now almost normal, attempt at a speech came on the heels of Biden’s tall tale Tuesday about once driving an 18-wheeler truck.

Biden again made the bizarre claim while speaking at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Even CNN surprisingly fact-checked the president:

Biden has repeatedly embellished or invented biographical tidbits. In 2021, he claimed during a tour of a Mack Trucks facility: “I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man,” then added, “I got to.” At a separate 2021 event, he told college students studying truck technology, “I used to drive a tractor-trailer,” adding, “I only did it for part of a summer, but I got my license anyway.”

“Biden’s claims were fact-checked at the time as false. But on Tuesday, during a campaign event in Florida, Biden said it again,” CNN noted.

“The only reason I have a pension is because of you,” a supporter told the president who responded, ““Well, we did get that done. Anyway. Besides, I used to drive an 18-wheeler.”

“Facts First: Biden’s claim remains untrue. There is no evidence he ever drove an 18-wheeler,” CNN noted.
