THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do)

  • Police say Rolex Augustin deliberately tampered with a Green Bay ballot box because he believed arrest would get him deported to Haiti.
  • ICE deported him October 8; a judge issued an arrest warrant after his missed October 23 hearing.
  • Officials say the box remained locked and no ballots were compromised.

LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time)

Here’s an election story with a plot twist that could only come from the federal government’s immigration department.

A Haitian man accused of tampering with a ballot box in Green Bay, Wisconsin, apparently wanted to be deported so badly that he allegedly committed a crime to make it happen.

And then ICE deported him before a local judge could get him back into court.

Meet Rolex Augustin, 32, whose unusual approach to immigration enforcement has left Wisconsin authorities holding an arrest warrant for a man who is already in Haiti.

According to a criminal complaint, the trouble began September 21 at Green Bay City Hall.

Employees discovered that the security seal on a ballot box had been broken. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing a man approaching the box, removing the seal, walking away, and then returning to pull on the door.

Police identified the man as Augustin. What he allegedly told officers afterward is the part that makes this case extraordinary.

According to the complaint, Augustin admitted he “did that on purpose” because he wanted to be arrested and believed it would lead to his deportation to Haiti. Forget filing immigration paperwork. This fellow allegedly tried the ballot-box express lane.

Augustin was charged September 25 with a misdemeanor count of attempted election fraud involving opening a ballot box. He was released after a signature bond was set.

But there was another government agency involved.

ICE subsequently confirmed that Augustin had been ordered removed from the United States in September 2025 after failing to appear in immigration proceedings. Federal officials detained him and deported him on October 8, 2026.

Fast-forward to October 23. Augustin was scheduled to appear in Brown County court. He didn’t show. A judge issued an arrest warrant.

There was just one small administrative complication: The federal government had already put the defendant on a one-way trip out of the country. According to FOX 11, local court officials apparently had not been notified of the deportation.

ICE Assistant Director for Public Affairs Micah Bock wasn’t particularly sympathetic.

“We are turning back the clock on the reckless policies of the Biden Administration,” Bock declared. “Time ran out for Rolex, and the only ice on his wrist is a pair of handcuffs.”

Green Bay officials confirmed the ballot box remained locked. No ballots were accessed or compromised.

So Wisconsin has an unresolved criminal case, an outstanding arrest warrant, and a defendant already removed from the country. And Augustin, if investigators have accurately described his intentions, got precisely the result he was allegedly trying to engineer.
