Newly unsealed court filings in the classified documents case against Donald Trump had Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene suggesting there was a plan to “assassinate” the former president.
The Georgia Republican expressed her outrage over the filing released on Tuesday that showed the Department of Justice authorized “the use of deadly force” in the August 2022 raid on Trump’s Florida home, Mar-a-Lago. The revelation about the FBI raid in which hundreds of documents were seized and the former president was charged with mishandling classified information came Tuesday in an “Operation Order” and sparked a fiery response from Trump.
DOJ and FBI agents “planned to bring ‘Standard Issue Weapons,’ ‘Ammo,’ ‘Handcuffs,’ and ‘medium and large sized bolt cutters,’ but they were instructed to wear ‘unmarked polo or collared shirts’ and to keep ‘law enforcement equipment concealed,” according to the filing.

“The Biden DOJ and FBI were planning to assassinate Pres Trump and gave the green light,'” Greene wrote in her reaction on X Tuesday. “I made sure that he knew.”
She also said that because of the latest bombshell, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland should be impeached.
Reader context on the social media platform checked Greene’s message: “This is false. Neither the DOJ nor the FBI were planning to assassinate Mr. Trump. That language in question is standard procedure.”
In a statement, the agency clarified: “The FBI followed standard protocol in this search as we do for all search warrants, which includes a standard policy statement limiting the use of deadly force. No one ordered additional steps to be taken and there was no departure from the norm in this matter.”

Trump was hit with 37 felony charges in the case and he has pleaded not guilty. Earlier this month, the trial on the case was indefinitely postponed by Trump-appointed District Judge Aileen Cannon.
