U.S. Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., is calling for “Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib to be removed from Congress.
The GOP lawmaker believes the decision by the radical leftists representing Michigan to associate with groups funded by designated terrorist organizations should be “disqualifying” as a member of Congress.
Tlaib “should be removed from Congress immediately. Associating with and speaking before groups that are funded by US designated terrorist organizations is disqualifying,” wrote Lawler on X Sunday in response to a video of the congresswoman’s remarks.
Tlaib spoke at the People’s Conference for Palestine which took place over the weekend in Detroit and was organized by The People’s Forum. This left-wing activist group has had a hand in organizing several anti-Israel protests since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.
“The People’s Forum is part of several organizations that make up the “Singham Network” a global web of nonprofits, fiscal sponsors and alternative news sources tied to Neville Roy Singham, an American-born multimillionaire tech mogul based in Shanghai, who has been described as a ‘conduit’ for CCP geopolitical influence,” Fox News reported.
Also speaking at the event was activist Wisam Rafeedie, who has reported ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which has been designated a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
Tlaib has vocally unleashed her criticism of President Joe Biden and his handling of the Israel-Gaza war and she railed against him as an “enabler” of genocide during the weekend’s event.
“President Biden says what’s happening [in Gaza] is not a genocide. Where is your red line, President Biden? This is not even consistent with his own views on international law in the past where he’d sit there and said [Russian President Vladimir] Putin must be held accountable at the International Criminal Court,” she said.
“It is disgraceful that the Biden administration and my colleagues in Congress continue to smear them for protesting to save lives no matter faith or ethnicity. It is cowardly. But we’re not gonna forget in November, are we?” she proclaimed.
