Beloved radio host and author James Golden found much to mock after Democrats chose their new party chair over the weekend, proving they learned nothing from their stunning election loss in November.
Speaking with NewsNation’s Markie Martin, Golden – known to many WABC radio fans and others as Bo Snerdley – couldn’t help but laugh at the Democratic National Committee’s Winter Meeting event.
“The Democratic Party is a party firmly hoisted on its own petard,” he said, pointing to how they have created a “coalition of various members of identity politics.”

“They cannot escape from their own creation,” Golden said.
“It is coming at a time when Americans are frankly tired of being called racists, tired of people suggesting that we are not a good people, a good nation,” he continued. “And what do they do? They double down on new leadership.”
As Black History Month kicked off, Democrats chose Ken Martin, chair of Minnesota’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, and a white man, to lead the party after its dismal 2024 performance.
“We have one team, the Democratic Party, and we have one fight. The fight’s not in here, it’s out there,” Martin said after his victory. “The fight right now is against Donald Trump and the billionaires who bought this country.”
The party that whines endlessly about DEI just elected two white, straight (allegedly), privileged, males, Ken Martin and David Hogg, to be DNC chair and vice chair.

“There is no relation to the things Americans care about that are coming from the Democrats right now,” Golden said on NewsNation as he criticized the current Democrat Party amid its “soul searching.”
“They’re going right back to the same things that brought them the defeat” of 2024, he added, noting that Democrats continue to push the issues and topics Americans made clear were not at the top of their list of concerns.
Acknowledging that “anything can happen” to change the trajectory for Democrats in the political future, Golden contended that “they may find themselves in the political wilderness for years.”
“This is just, it’s unsustainable. The public has moved on,” he continued. “This is a party that’s stuck somehow back in the 1990s and they just don’t want to come out of it.”
He pointed out that Democrats need a “bigger vision” as they continue to be beholden to various coalitions, refusing to offend any one of the groups pushing social issues that Americans made clear in November they are done with.
“Donald Trump, what he’s doing, is exactly what the American people want,” he said, reminding how Democrats spent the last few years railing against the 45th and now 47th president.
