Joy is ‘a talking hemorrhoid in an Auburn wig’: Kennedy dishes about her interview to be a host on ‘The View’

by

Joy Behar has inspired a bevy of nicknames over the years that she’s co-hosted “The View,” but one recently revealed on Fox News leaves an image not easily forgotten.

Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery shared her take on the 82-year-old comedian while appearing on “Gutfeld!” this week, recalling when she had auditioned to be part of the ABC daytime talk show back in 2003.

Kennedy shared she “got pretty far along in the process” of applying, revealing that the hosts at the time, which included legendary Barbara Walters who created the show, were great but Behar was anything but.

“Joy was a talking hemorrhoid in an Auburn wig,” the Fox News contributor and former MTV VJ told the “Gutfeld!” audience.

“She was so ungracious and awful and she had a comedy writer writing her little lines during the breaks,” Kennedy continued, noting how she thought at the time that Behar was “not even funny.”

“She’s not reacting to anything. She’s not thinking in the moment,” she recalled. “And then I made some jokes because it’s a conversational show…and she said to me during the break, ‘I’ll handle the comedy here.'”

While Behar has made some recent comments about retiring after nearly three decades on “The View,” she clarified on a Behind the Table podcast last week that she is not planning to leave the show anytime soon.

Social media users applauded Kennedy’s “burn” and many agreed they were not surprised to hear about Behar not being authentically funny in person.
