A longtime Democratic staffer has come forward with allegations that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, authorized the illegal leaking of classified information in a calculated effort to damage President Donald Trump. The explosive claim is supported by newly declassified documents obtained by Just The News and recently handed over to Congress by FBI Director Kash Patel.
The whistleblower, who worked for over a decade with Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, reportedly informed the FBI back in 2017 that Schiff orchestrated the leak of sensitive intelligence as part of a broader political scheme. The staffer, whose name remains redacted for security reasons, was most recently interviewed by the Bureau in 2023, reaffirming his original account of the events.
The documents reveal that this former insider labeled Schiff’s conduct as “treasonous,” “illegal,” and “unethical.” He recalled being present at a staff meeting in which Schiff explicitly approved leaking classified materials designed to undermine President Trump.
According to the whistleblower’s statement, “When working in this capacity, [redacted staffer’s name] was called to an all-staff meeting by SCHIFF. In this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP. SCHIFF stated the information would be used to indict President TRUMP.”
Despite voicing concern that such actions would be unlawful, the whistleblower claimed he was met with reassurance from unnamed colleagues that the leaks would go undetected. “[The whistleblower] stated this would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured that they would not be caught leaking classified information,” the report stated.
Investigative journalist John Solomon, who co-authored the Just The News report with Jerry Dunleavy, appeared on Fox News’ Hannity to discuss the findings. “This is the first of several major leak investigations we’re going to see over the next several days,” Solomon warned. “You’re going to see other major people that were clearly identified by the FBI, having leaked classified secrets.”
Solomon pointed out a disturbing trend: “Their own staff turned them in when interviewed by the FBI. Nothing, again, happened,” he said. “It’s a common pattern. The question now is, in Donald Trump’s Justice Department, does that dynamic change?”
The release of these documents has reignited concerns about the politicization and potential weaponization of U.S. intelligence agencies. Kash Patel, who was instrumental in pushing for the declassification of these records, took to X to emphasize the significance of what has been uncovered. “The FBI found it [and] declassified it,” Patel wrote. “Now Congress can see how classified info was leaked to shape political narratives—and decide if our institutions were weaponized against the American people.”
While Trump and his allies have been relentlessly pursued over supposed mishandling of sensitive materials, it now appears that high-ranking Democrats may have used classified information as a political weapon—without consequences.
