Guess which celeb just declared we’re headed for Taliban-like rule over Kimmel

by

Hollywood elites and leftist activists are in full meltdown mode following ABC-Disney’s decision to cut ties with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. The network reportedly dismissed Kimmel after he falsely claimed that Charlie Kirk, the slain founder of Turning Point USA, was a MAGA Republican—and then refused to issue a retraction or apology.

The move, seen by many as a long-overdue act of accountability, is being spun by progressive media and Democratic operatives as some sort of authoritarian crackdown on “free speech.” But facts, as usual, tell a different story.

Kimmel’s divisive and often venomous commentary had long alienated conservative Americans. But this latest controversy crossed a line even ABC couldn’t defend. Kirk’s assassin was mischaracterized during a sensitive and tragic moment, and Kimmel’s refusal to correct the record appears to have sealed his fate.

Yet rather than address the legitimate reasons behind the firing, Hollywood’s usual suspects are attempting to reframe Kimmel’s ousting as a “fascist” attack on the First Amendment—ignoring the basic truth that ABC is a private company with every right to cut ties with an employee who violated journalistic and ethical standards.

Enter actor and left-wing activist Mark Ruffalo, who went on a now-viral tirade that stunned even some in his own camp.

“We saw Jimmy Kimmel’s show was canceled … The United States government is now suppressing the freedom of speech … Think of yourselves living under the Taliban, because that’s where we’re headed,” Ruffalo exclaimed during a mobilization call for the left’s newest protest movement, a reboot of the “No Kings” campaign.

Ruffalo, who once played the Incredible Hulk, has become more known in recent years for his extreme rhetoric than his acting. He accused the U.S. government of directly suppressing free speech, saying:

“This cancellation is the U.S. government coming and taking your voice away from you… It is the government doing it now.”

“Authoritarian regimes, fascist regimes have to degrade our freedoms… Think of yourselves living under the Taliban because that’s where we’re headed.”

Critics were quick to point out the irony of Ruffalo invoking the Taliban, considering the radical left’s own history of authoritarian behavior—especially during the 2020 riots, when mobs tore down statues, silenced dissenters, and demanded ideological conformity in the name of “justice.”

Conservative voices didn’t hold back. Comedian Rob Schneider unloaded on Ruffalo, writing on X:

“Mark Ruffalo continually craps on half of America and no one stops him from spouting his non-sense. Mark’s absurd suggestion that we live under the Taliban is just another illiberal hogwash turd pinched out of the common senseless brain of this predictable Democrat weasel…”

Social media lit up with reactions mocking Ruffalo’s over-the-top comparison and highlighting the broader absurdity of Hollywood elites equating accountability with tyranny.

The left’s attempt to weaponize Kimmel’s firing for political theater reveals more about their agenda than anything else. When even a corporate media behemoth like ABC can’t tolerate the venom spewed by its hosts, it’s not censorship—it’s sanity.
