When Kamala Harris unveiled Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, legacy media rushed to sell the choice as “steady,” “Midwestern,” and “unifying.” Conservatives weren’t buying it. To many on the right, the pick raised more questions than answers—especially when the money started pouring in at a pace that defied political gravity.
Nick Shirley, the guy who just exposed a massive Somalian fraud ring in Walz home state of Minnesota crystallized that skepticism in a blunt assessment that has since circulated widely online. His point wasn’t just about Walz as a person—it was about the political machine that seemed to materialize overnight.
“You know what’s interesting about Tim Walz? Why do you think Kamala Harris chose Tim Walz? Nobody knew who he was before — The first day he’s chosen, he raises the most amount of money than any other candidate in history. I think it’s over $35 million he raised for the campaign within just a day of being selected to become the vice president. And now we know all this fraud’s happening.
How did Tim Walz, who used to be a high school football coach, he’s not even from Minnesota, he’s from Nebraska, how is he able to raise the most amount of money”
Time and again, grassroots conservatives are told their bake sales and small-dollar donations are “threats to democracy,” while massive, near-instant cash infusions into Democrat campaigns are treated as perfectly normal—no questions asked.
Walz’s biography—a former teacher and football coach turned politician—doesn’t naturally align with record-breaking national fundraising on day one. For critics, that disconnect fuels suspicions about who is really bankrolling the campaign and why.
That skepticism escalates in Shirley’s next exchange:
“Do you think the Somalians were funding it?”
And his own emphatic answer:
“100%. It had to be some sort of fraud.”
To be clear, these are Shirley’s opinions and allegations, not proven facts. Media outlets would relentlessly investigate similar claims if they involved a Republican ticket. When it’s Democrats, however, curiosity is replaced with silence.
