Inside the FBI’s new fight school: Agents to train with UFC stars, Patel announces

by

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is about to get a dose of Octagon-level intensity.

In an unusual but eye-catching collaboration, FBI agents will soon train alongside elite fighters from the Ultimate Fighting Championship during a special seminar at the bureau’s training headquarters in Quantico, Virginia.

The two-day program is scheduled for March 15 and 16 at the FBI Academy, where future agents are trained and seasoned personnel refine their skills. According to reports, the event will bring together academy recruits and senior FBI staff from around the world for hands-on instruction and demonstrations led by some of the toughest competitors in professional mixed martial arts.

Leading the charge behind the initiative is FBI Director Kash Patel, who described the training partnership as a significant moment for the agency.

“I’m thrilled to announce this historic seminar between the FBI and the UFC at Quantico,” Patel said in a statement released by the UFC. “This is a tremendous opportunity for our FBI agents to learn and train with some of the greatest athletes on earth — helping the world’s premier law enforcement agency be even better prepared to protect the American people.”

The training will give agents a look inside the grueling preparation and techniques used by professional fighters. Participants are expected to learn about conditioning routines, combat tactics, and practical fighting strategies used at the highest level of the sport.

Among the UFC fighters slated to appear are fan favorites and battle-tested veterans of the Octagon, including Justin Gaethje, Jorge Masvidal, and former middleweight champion Chris Weidman. Additional fighters are also expected to take part in the program.

The idea behind the seminar is straightforward: expose agents to world-class combat training that could sharpen their defensive abilities and physical readiness. Mixed martial arts blends disciplines such as wrestling, boxing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu—skills that can translate to real-world defensive scenarios where agents must act quickly and decisively.

UFC leadership is also backing the initiative. “We’re proud to support the FBI in strengthening their defense techniques,” said UFC President Dana White, emphasizing the organization’s enthusiasm for helping America’s premier law-enforcement agency improve its preparedness.
