Move over, cancel culture! President Donald Trump has officially restored Christopher Columbus to his rightful place of honor—right on the White House grounds. The 13-foot statue, a faithful replica of the original that BLM rioters tore down in Baltimore in 2020 and tossed into the city’s harbor, now gleams proudly next to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
And get this: parts of the original vandalized statue were salvaged and incorporated into the new version. Talk about turning destruction into triumph. As one thrilled supporter tweeted, “GREAT NEWS: President Trump just installed a statue of Christopher Columbus on the White House grounds using the remains of the statue DESTROYED by Black Lives Matter riots in Baltimore 2020. We are so back. It looks absolutely beautiful! BLM loses in the end!”
The restored monument is on loan from Italian American Organizations United, whose president, Maryland lobbyist John Pica, said the group “voted unanimously to loan the statue to the federal government after being contacted by a White House intermediary around Columbus Day last year.” Pica added, “We are delighted the statue has found a place where it can peacefully shine and be protected.”
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle made it crystal clear: “In this White House, Christopher Columbus is a hero. And he will continue to be honored as such by President Donald Trump.”
Maryland state Delegate Nino Mangione, a Republican, didn’t mince words either. “The statue had to be repaired after the thugs attempted to destroy it and threw it into the Inner Harbor. The statue is repaired and ready to be displayed in a prominent position of honor, worthy of the great Christopher Columbus…We are so pleased at the prospect of the statue being displayed on the hallowed grounds of the White House.”
This isn’t just about a statue—it’s a statement. Trump has long vowed to “restore respect for the explorer,” tweeting last year: “I’m bringing Columbus Day back from the ashes. The Democrats did everything possible to destroy Christopher Columbus, his reputation, and all of the Italians that love him so much.”
And now, the statue speaks for itself: Columbus is back, standing tall, and the culture warriors can’t touch him.
