President Donald Trump delivered another classic Trump moment this week while promoting Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy’s bestselling new book, proving once again why no politician in modern history connects with Americans quite like he does.
In a lighthearted video filmed from the Oval Office, Trump praised Campos-Duffy’s new release, All American Patriotism: Celebrating 250 Years of America’s Greatness, a collection of essays and reflections focused on American history, pride, and the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday celebration. The book features contributions from Fox News personalities and includes a foreword from Erika Kirk, widow of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“All I can say is this is a great book,” Trump declared. “Everybody loves it.”
Then came the line that instantly grabbed attention online. “The book is dedicated to me. So, when a book is dedicated to me I like it even if it’s no good.”
The room erupted in laughter. Campos-Duffy quickly jumped in with a grin, responding, “But this one’s good!”
That exchange summed up what supporters have long appreciated about Trump: his willingness to poke fun at himself while delivering a message. While political consultants spend millions trying to manufacture authenticity, Trump casually generates viral moments by simply being Trump.
The president then turned serious, showering Campos-Duffy with praise. “Rachel’s fantastic. She’s on Fox and Friends Weekend,” Trump said. “You’ve got the highest rated show by the way. It gets big ratings. And she’s got that personality and life and she’s an amazing wife and mother. And she’s got beautiful children. The whole thing is perfect. She’s got like a perfect life.”
The praise follows years of mutual admiration between Trump and Campos-Duffy. Earlier this month, Trump celebrated the book on social media, highlighting its patriotic message and dedication to restoring pride in America at a time when many conservatives argue the nation’s history and traditions are under relentless attack.
Campos-Duffy has described the project as a celebration of America’s founding ideals and a response to what many on the right see as decades of anti-American messaging in schools, media, and popular culture. The book arrives as the United States prepares to mark its 250th anniversary in 2026, a milestone that has become a centerpiece of Trump’s broader effort to reignite civic pride and national unity.
Naturally, critics attempted to change the subject.
Some media outlets quickly pivoted to controversy surrounding Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Campos-Duffy’s husband, over a family road-trip reality series documenting travel across America ahead of the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration. The project has drawn predictable complaints from Washington watchdog groups that seem far more energized by conservative family programming than by the endless parade of government waste that routinely escapes scrutiny.
Campos-Duffy has defended the project as a celebration of family values and Americana at a time when many Americans are searching for exactly that. “We live in a Porn Hub world,” she said earlier this month. “This is really wholesome, good family stuff. This is what families need to do.”
The bigger story, however, may be what happened after Trump’s endorsement. Campos-Duffy publicly thanked both the president and readers for helping propel the book onto The New York Times bestseller list, another sign that patriotic-themed books remain a powerful force despite years of predictions from elite commentators that traditional American values were fading from public life.
Instead, books celebrating faith, family, and country continue finding audiences far beyond the Beltway bubble. And thanks to one perfectly timed Trump joke, millions more Americans now know about it.
Thank you, Mr. President! And thank you to every American who propelled this book onto the New York Times bestseller list. I’m honored 🇺🇸
