Trump rolls out the red carpet to thank Reflecting Pool crew in the Oval

by

For years, Washington has showered attention on lobbyists, celebrities, activists and political insiders. But this week, President Trump flipped the script and put the spotlight where many Americans believe it belongs: on the working men who actually built something.

The president welcomed the crew responsible for renovating the iconic Reflecting Pool to the Oval Office, where each worker received a signed Trump hat and a presidential challenge coin — a small gesture that carried a much larger message.

In a city often accused of forgetting the people who do the heavy lifting, Trump made sure these workers got their moment.

The visit quickly sparked a wave of praise across social media, with supporters applauding the president for recognizing tradesmen whose work will be seen by millions of visitors for generations to come. “Only the greatest President of all time would give them credit for their work, let alone invite them to the White House!” wrote commentator RedNeckPapa. “God bless Donald J. Trump! He has Made America Proud Again and he’s bringing the country closer to God! God will heal our land! I know it!”

Others pointed to Trump’s long-standing reputation among employees and contractors. “President Trump and his sons are so good to their employees and contractors,” wrote DataRepublican. “I’ve stayed in Trump properties several times, and every employee that I spoke with speaks very highly of the family.”

The ceremony also resonated with Americans who have spent years in construction, contracting and skilled trades. “Back in the day, my crew and I would be overjoyed with appreciation if a client would just hand us cold water bottles or pick up the tab at the ‘Roach Coach,'” wrote one user. “You don’t forget people’s kindness. What an incredible honor for these men. I can’t even imagine being in their shoes.”

Another commenter emphasized the lasting significance of the project itself. “What these guys have done for the United States of America is absolutely historic,” wrote Robert Anson. “That small group has made a keystone piece of our nation’s capital shine brightly for generations to come. They’ll be part of America’s history forever and rightly so.”

Supporters also contrasted the event with what they see as a persistent blind spot in legacy media coverage. One commenter wrote, “I wish the Legacy Media would cover this,” arguing that positive stories involving Trump rarely receive the same attention as controversy-driven headlines.

Others celebrated the broader restoration efforts taking place around Washington. One supporter preparing for a trip to the capital said she was eager to see the landmarks and parks that have been revived, adding that she had not been impressed during a previous visit years ago.

And in perhaps the most blunt social media reaction of the day, one supporter summed up the image by writing: “For those that don’t know, this is what a group of real men look like.”
