TUCSON, Ariz. — Nearly six months after her mother vanished without a trace, Savannah Guthrie delivered perhaps her most emotional public message yet. Speaking directly into the camera in a video posted Monday, the Today co-anchor appealed not to the public—but seemingly to whoever knows what happened to her 84-year-old mother, Nancy.

“I am coming on today with a very specific message.”

Fighting back emotion, Guthrie described the agony her family has endured since Nancy disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills outside Tucson on February 1.

“Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end.”

She added:

“Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part. We will never stop looking for her.”

Then came the part of the message that drew widespread attention. Rather than speaking with anger, Guthrie appealed to the conscience of anyone involved.

“I know you have tried to do things the right way.”

She continued with a direct plea:

“I’m asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look.”

Guthrie concluded with a message of redemption.

“I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing.”

Nancy Guthrie disappeared during the early morning hours of February 1 after investigators say a masked individual approached her home and disabled her doorbell camera before she vanished.

Investigators later confirmed that blood recovered at the scene belonged to Nancy, while surveillance footage captured an individual wearing a mask and backpack outside the residence shortly before her disappearance.

Despite months of searching by local authorities, the FBI and hundreds of volunteers, no suspects have been publicly identified.

The FBI continues to offer a reward, while the Guthrie family has added a private $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s recovery.

The investigation has taken several confusing turns.

Earlier in the case, multiple communications surfaced claiming to come from Nancy’s captors.

However, Reuters recently reported that federal investigators have concluded the known kidnapping-related messages were not authentic, even as authorities continue pursuing other investigative leads. Savannah’s latest video notably avoids discussing ransom demands or negotiations.

Instead, her message centers on one request:

“Tell us where to look.”

The wording has fueled speculation that the family’s immediate focus is obtaining answers and bringing Nancy home—or, if the worst has happened, finally recovering her remains so they can lay her to rest. Authorities, however, have not publicly confirmed Nancy’s fate and continue to treat the investigation as active.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI say the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information—no matter how small—to contact investigators. Savannah ended Monday’s message with a simple appeal that has become the family’s constant refrain:

“Please make the right choice.”
