On last night’s Rush Hour, I dug into New York’s latest government grocery store proposal—and trust me, the more you think about it, the stranger it gets.

Politicians are now talking about requiring some sort of “library card-esque” ID to shop for discounted groceries. So I asked a simple question: if an ID is perfectly reasonable to buy government groceries, why has requiring an ID to vote been treated like the end of democracy? We followed that contradiction wherever it led—with a few laughs along the way.

I also broke down the latest developments surrounding Todd Blanche’s Senate confirmation and why the news could matter as Congress heads toward recess.

Then we listened to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s exchange with CNN’s Dana Bash. I explained why I thought RFK Jr. turned the interview on its head and what it revealed about the way so much of today’s media operates.

As always, we moved quickly through the day’s biggest headlines, separated the facts from the political theater, and had a little fun doing it.
