President Donald Trump took aim at filmmaker Michael Moore Wednesday night, unleashing a blistering Truth Social post after the liberal activist used a CNN appearance to urge Democrats to revolt against their own party leadership.
The latest exchange came less than 24 hours after progressive candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed stunned the Democratic establishment by defeating Rep. Haley Stevens in Michigan’s closely watched U.S. Senate primary. El-Sayed’s victory, despite a massive spending disadvantage and tens of millions of dollars in outside expenditures backing Stevens, has already reignited an internal Democratic debate over the party’s direction heading into November.
Appearing on CNN’s election coverage Tuesday night, Moore argued Democrats have learned nothing from recent defeats.
“If I could get on my knees and beg, it would be for exactly what you said, because we are not going to win the other way.”
Moore said the Democratic establishment had failed voters.
“We lost that way in ’24.”
He praised El-Sayed, whom he supported during previous campaigns in Michigan, saying:
“Boy, we would be so lucky if he were our senator.”
Trump wasn’t about to let those comments go unanswered.
In a lengthy Truth Social post Wednesday evening, the president mocked Moore’s political record before turning his attention to El-Sayed.
“Michael Moore… You’ve been a Loser all your life, and nothing’s going to change.”
Trump also referred to El-Sayed as Moore’s “new Communist Comrade” and argued that communist policies have “never worked” while touting what he called the “Golden Age of America.”
The president contrasted Moore’s criticism with what he described as his administration’s economic successes.
“This is the Golden Age of America… A small group of misfits… won’t be able to destroy it.”
The exchange comes as Democrats continue digesting one of the cycle’s biggest primary surprises.
El-Sayed’s victory over Stevens marked a major win for the party’s progressive wing after a race that became one of the most expensive Senate primaries in U.S. history. Stevens quickly conceded and endorsed El-Sayed, while Democratic leaders have begun rallying behind the nominee in hopes of keeping the seat in Democratic hands.
The general election is already shaping up as one of the country’s marquee Senate contests.
El-Sayed will face former Congressman Mike Rogers, a Republican backed by President Trump, in November in a race expected to play a major role in determining Senate control.

Michael Moore went on CNN asking Democrats to overthrow the establishment. Trump heard that and basically said, “Don’t threaten me with a good time.”
It’s one thing when Republicans say Democrats are in civil war. It’s another when Michael Moore walks into CNN and starts handing out battle plans.
Some political arguments are like tennis. This one looked more like dodgeball… and Trump apparently is bringing extra balls.
