A discussion about transgender eligibility in women’s sports turned into a profanity-laced circus Wednesday after conservative commentator Elijah Schaffer managed to insult female athletes and Special Olympians in a single answer.
Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Schaffer declared that the WNBA is “a sport that no one wants to watch” before comparing women’s basketball to the Special Olympics.
“I don’t care about women’s sports, and neither do most Americans, because of the same reason we don’t get super excited about the Special Olympics — they’re very similar,” Schaffer said.
“If women can’t compete, then maybe they weren’t designed,” he continued. “That’s not what their purpose is — to be athletic and be competitive and be on the market.”
Across the panel, liberal social-media personality Joanne Carducci — better known as JoJoFromJerz — buried her face in her hands. Host Piers Morgan and Fox News contributor Tyrus knew what was coming. Both urged Morgan to “let JoJo go.”
He did.
“That was a nine-layer dip of just fcking what the fck, dude,” Carducci fired back. “When your voice changes, let’s have a real conversation, okay? In the meantime, you can shut your f*cking stupid ass up.”
Schaffer then predicted she was about to make a joke about his anatomy, blurting out, “Your penis is small!”
Carducci noted that Schaffer, not she, had introduced that subject. “Look, you said your penis is small. I didn’t say your penis is small, dude,” she responded. “I don’t want to ever think about your penis.”
So naturally, they continued talking about it.
Carducci accused Schaffer of disparaging “people with disabilities and women in the same soundbite” while sitting in his “high chair” displaying what she called smugness. Schaffer then revealed he had been diagnosed with level-two autism and asked Carducci to “have some respect, please.”
Yes, the man who had just compared women athletes to Special Olympians suddenly requested a respectful conversation. Television can be magical that way. Schaffer appeared delighted with the eruption afterward, promoting the clip on X by writing that he had “triggered” Carducci with his remarks about women’s sports.
MY QUICK TAKE
There is a serious argument to be made about protecting women’s sports from biological males. Schaffer did not make it.
Instead, he handed the Left exactly what it wants: an obnoxious soundbite that allows activists to dodge the biological question and portray anyone defending female competition as contemptuous of women.
JoJoFromJerz responded with all the elegance of a bar fight, but Schaffer lit the match, poured the gasoline and stood there smirking as the argument burned down. If your defense of women’s sports begins with announcing that women were not designed to be athletic, you are not defending women’s sports. You are sabotaging the people who are.
If a political discussion reaches the “tiny penis” stage, congratulations: Everyone involved has lost.
