BS BULLETIN
- Eman Abdelhadi, half-sister of Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, was charged last year with two felony counts of aggravated battery after allegedly spitting on an Illinois state trooper.
- Abdelhadi had accused ICE of “terrorizing our communities” one day before her arrest.
- El-Sayed’s campaign says he loves his sister but disagrees with some of her politics and rhetoric.
🚨 I’ve been warning about this “professor” for years. If you think Abdul El-Sayed isn’t in agreement with his terror-supporting sister, you’re blind.
Radicalism runs in the family.

The family politics surrounding Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed just got considerably more interesting.
El-Sayed’s half-sister, Eman Abdelhadi, is a University of Chicago professor and longtime left-wing activist who was arrested last October during an anti-ICE protest outside the federal immigration facility in Broadview, Illinois.
And according to prosecutors, this wasn’t merely a case of chanting too loudly.
Court records cited by the Chicago Tribune say Abdelhadi “knowingly and intentionally” spat at an Illinois State Police trooper. She was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a government employee, both Class 3 felonies, along with two misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing police.
The arrest came during weeks of heated demonstrations outside the Broadview facility. Fox News reported that roughly 250 protesters gathered there on Oct. 3, with authorities making numerous arrests amid confrontations over access to the facility.
Abdelhadi wasn’t exactly hiding her opinion of immigration enforcement.
One day before her arrest, she appeared on a podcast and accused ICE of “terrorizing our communities.” She also declared there was “no neutral ground,” arguing that people were either resisting the Trump administration or were “complicit.”
And that’s where this becomes politically awkward for her brother. El-Sayed himself has publicly called for abolishing ICE. His campaign, however, is trying to draw a line between the candidate and his half-sister’s broader politics.
“Abdul loves his sister and also disagrees with her on a number of political positions and the rhetoric she’s chosen to use, including on foreign policy,” campaign spokeswoman Sophie Pollok told Fox News. “But Abdul is the one on the ballot.”
There’s plenty of rhetoric to distance himself from. Abdelhadi has called the University of Chicago an “evil” and “colonial landlord,” participated in the Socialism 2025 conference and has now drawn additional attention for previous comments about American holidays and the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.
But as El-Sayed heads into a nationally watched Michigan Senate race, voters are getting quite an introduction to the political company surrounding the Democratic nominee.
