WASHINGTON — Hallmark announced Wednesday that it is expanding its premium Christmas collection following newly disclosed holiday gifts from President Donald Trump to several members of his White House staff.
The company’s new Trump Signature Christmas Collection looks like an ordinary holiday card from the outside.
Gold lettering. Snowflakes. A tasteful Christmas greeting.
But recipients are advised to open carefully.
There could be $45,000 inside.
“Apparently we’ve been doing Christmas wrong for 116 years,” a Hallmark executive said.
Several traditional greetings are also being retired.
Peace on Earth and Warmest Wishes will make way for: MERRY CHRISTMAS. BUY SOMETHING NICE.
The cards will reportedly be displayed behind a velvet rope and guarded by two accountants.
A more affordable $20,000 edition is also under consideration.
Meanwhile, White House employees have begun examining every greeting card arriving in the West Wing considerably more carefully.
One aide reportedly opened a birthday card Tuesday and shook it for six minutes.
Nothing came out.
