TOTAL BS!

Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ attempt to “psych out” social-media algorithms has triggered an unexpected surge in flower-related content across several major platforms, prompting technology companies to activate what industry officials are calling the Floral Recommendation Containment Protocol.
The disruption began after Harris appeared on “Off Air with Big Boy” and explained her concerns about recommendation algorithms using an example involving yellow and pink flowers.
“The algorithm’s suggesting I have no more interest — because I’m looking at this yellow flower, I’m only interested in yellow flowers, as though my brain can’t handle the fact that there may be a pink flower that I might be interested in looking at.”
Harris said users should understand how algorithms influence what they see and learn how to “psych it out a bit.”
According to the newly formed Interplatform Algorithmic Response Center, Harris subsequently tested the strategy by viewing several pieces of flower-related content while deliberately alternating between yellow and pink varieties.
The experiment initially appeared successful.
Within approximately four minutes, however, Harris reportedly received recommendations for 47 additional flower videos, including begonias, tulips, hydrangeas and an unusually aggressive series of advertisements for gardening equipment.
The situation escalated after Harris searched for a pink flower in an apparent effort to disrupt the recommendation pattern.
Meta’s Algorithmic Botanical Content Division classified the move as a “significant preference event,” resulting in an additional 83 floral recommendations.
Officials said Harris then attempted to reset the system by interacting with unrelated content.
She selected a coconut tree.
That decision triggered what engineers have designated a Category 4 Botanical Crossover Event.
Recommendation systems began associating flowers with coconut trees, gardening, tropical vacations, motivational speeches and Venn diagrams.
The Federal Algorithmic Management Agency was notified shortly afterward.
In an advisory issued to major technology platforms, FAMA instructed engineers not to allow Harris to click additional plant material until the recommendation loop could be isolated.
“We are asking the former vice president to refrain from interacting with flowers, trees, shrubs, houseplants or produce until further notice,” acting FAMA administrator Dennis Mulch said.
The Department of Agriculture also established a temporary Algorithmic Horticulture Task Force after officials determined that several California users who had never searched for flowers were suddenly receiving recommendations for hydrangeas.
Officials emphasized that the nation’s physical flower supply remains unaffected.
By Friday afternoon, engineers believed they had successfully stabilized Harris’ accounts. The recovery lasted approximately seven minutes. According to an incident report, Harris paused briefly on an image of a cactus.
The algorithm immediately recommended 47 additional Kamala Harris videos.
Federal officials have not announced when the Floral Recommendation Containment Protocol will be lifted.
