THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do).
- A crowd scuffle interrupted President Trump’s Wednesday rally near Clemson, South Carolina.
- Trump praised an attendee he said threw a punch and compared him to Evander Holyfield.
- The former heavyweight champion was attending the rally himself.
LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time).
President Trump’s South Carolina rally briefly acquired an undercard Wednesday night, and the boxing reference came with unusually convenient guest booking.
Evander Holyfield was already there.
Trump paused his remarks after a confrontation in the audience as security removed a protester. Watching from the stage, the president praised an attendee he said had thrown a punch.
“Who’s the guy that threw the punch?” Trump asked.
He then compared the attendee to the former heavyweight champion, who had accompanied him to the event.
LMFAO. President Trump watching on as a protester starts screeching and immediately gets whacked by a MAGA patriot. Trump’s loving it — “Who threw that punch?” 😂
He told Evander Holyfield not to hit the man who threw the punch. 😭
“That was unbelievable. Is everybody okay? Yes? Who’s the guy that threw that punch? Who threw that punch?” 😂
“The guy stood up, and he got whacked.
They don’t realize it’s really dangerous to do that. It takes… You got to give him credit. It takes courage to do that in a Trump rally. He got whacked just… He started, you know, that screech, whatever the hell they do, whatever they practice.
And as he’s in the process of the screech, he got whacked. Evander, he wants your autograph, that man. Don’t fight him. Evander, don’t fight him.” 💀

Most politicians reach for a boxing metaphor when a campaign gets rough. Trump had the boxer in the building.
The interruption was among several disruptions during the rally. Security escorted demonstrators away while Trump commented from the podium and supporters responded from the audience.
Reports and footage documented the confrontation and removals; the identity of the attendee Trump praised was not established in the initial accounts.
“That was great, man. Wow. Man, I loved that,” Trump said.
The event was intended to bolster Republican Sen. Darline Graham ahead of the November election. Instead, a stretch of the evening’s coverage went to a crowd confrontation and the president’s enthusiastic reaction.
Holyfield’s presence made the comparison literal enough to require a second look at the guest list. He was attending the political event, rather than participating in the altercation.
Trump resumed his remarks after the interruption.
