THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do).
- Skyler AJ Rose, 22, of Ogden, faces a federal attempted hate-crime charge after allegedly threatening to bomb a synagogue.
- Investigators say they recovered six functional pipe bombs, two rifles and ammunition, and found that Rose had searched online for a nearby synagogue.
- The indictment also charges receipt and possession of child sexual abuse material — while alleging Rose posted accusations about Israel sheltering pedophiles.
LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time).
A Utah man allegedly announced that he wanted to bomb a synagogue. Federal investigators say a search of his home turned up six functional pipe bombs, two rifles and ammunition.
And the case gets uglier from there.
Skyler AJ Rose, 22, of Ogden, was indicted Wednesday on five federal counts, including attempting to commit a hate crime, possessing an unregistered destructive device and making an explosive threat.
According to the indictment, Rose posted multiple antisemitic threats on December 23, 2025, including: “I wanna blow up a synagogue.”
Prosecutors also allege that he threatened to kill Jewish people and invoked Hitler. This was hardly subtle enough to require a congressional panel on what he might have meant.
Investigators traced the posts to an IP address associated with Rose’s residence. The FBI worked with Ogden police, and authorities say they confirmed that the social media account belonged to him.
A search warrant allegedly produced six functional explosive devices, another inert device and materials capable of being used to make additional bombs. The indictment identifies the firearms as two AK-47-type rifles.
A subsequent examination of Rose’s cellphone allegedly showed that he had searched for a synagogue near him in November 2025, the month before the threatening posts.
Then came another discovery: Prosecutors say the phone contained hundreds of cached images and screenshots depicting child sexual abuse material. Rose faces separate federal counts of receiving and possessing that material.
There is a particularly revolting contradiction in the indictment. Among the antisemitic posts attributed to Rose is an accusation that Israel shelters pedophiles and traffics children.
The man allegedly appointing himself prosecutor of everybody else’s depravity now faces child-exploitation charges of his own. The self-righteousness apparently came without a mirror.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon described the prosecution as stopping an alleged synagogue attack.
“Today’s indictment stops in its tracks an alleged plan to carry out a violent attack on a synagogue,” she said.
U.S. Attorney Melissa Holyoak credited investigators with intervening before anyone was harmed.
“A place of worship should be a refuge of safety, not fear,” she said.
The FBI’s Salt Lake City field office and Ogden police are jointly investigating, with assistance from state authorities, bomb squads and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Rose’s initial federal court appearance is scheduled for Friday, October 23, in Salt Lake City.
