Trump unloads on reporters, Pirro raises new Omar questions, and Paris gets an NFL warning

President Trump has been on quite a roll with the White House press corps. After calling reporters from CNN and ABC some rather unflattering names, he turned his attention to NBC. And the exchange involved an Ohio campaign advertisement in which a candidate’s own mother attacked her daughter’s character. There is quite a family history behind that political commercial.

Meanwhile, Trump says Ilhan Omar should resign over allegations concerning her legal name. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro joined Jesse Watters to explain what investigators are examining, and her answer about what matters in an immigration investigation was particularly interesting. I also played a clip from Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, whose response to a question about the investigation’s ultimate goal deserves attention.

Then we turned to Michigan, where Trump went after Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed with language that practically guarantees another media uproar.

And if you’re planning to watch the Steelers and Saints play in Paris, I offered a little unofficial play-by-play of what that game might sound like amid the reported unrest. Karolos was considerably more concerned about his fantasy football lineup.

There was also a retro musical dedication, a birthday salute to Weird Al Yankovic, and a look ahead to Saturday’s conversation with Princess Diana.

And don’t miss my Saturday op-ed, inspired by the increasingly bitter relationship between President Trump and the national press: MY SATURDAY MIX: When the president insults a reporter, who really wins?.

Rush Hour airs Monday through Friday and moves quickly through the day’s hottest political stories, breaking developments and media absurdities. It is the fastest hour in American media because there is always more happening than the legacy media has time—or desire—to explain.

And if you want my daily stack of news and commentary delivered directly to you, sign up for The Daily BS here. It is free, arrives daily and, unlike a New York Democratic event, questions are not removed for exceeding ideological capacity.
