Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) is under fire for declaring that she would like to work with anyone who is interested in “censoring the American people.”
The leftist Democrat was attacking President Donald Trump and his efforts to address and eliminate fraud and waste in the federal government, as her fellow Democrats have been having meltdowns over Elon Musk’s work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in identifying the problems in federal agencies.
“Look, let me tell you something. I’ll take a bit of umbrage here. I’ll speak on behalf of my colleagues,” Pressley said at a rally with a crowd gathered to cry over the Trump administration’s move to shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

“I think I can say we are all willing to work with anyone who’s serious about doing the work of censoring the American people and advancing progress. But they are not serious,” the Massachusetts Democrat said.
It was not clear if she misspoke or if she said the quiet part out loud.
At the same Washington. D.C. rally, the congresswoman declared, “Last week, I saw a sign in the crowd that said ‘DOGE stands for Dangerous Oligarchs Grab at Everything.’”
“And I said it then and I’ll say it again, that Elon Musk needs to keep his … greedy, grubby hands off our government,” the sitting member of Congress told the crowd.
She continued her disparaging insults at Trump and Musk, driving home how little Democrats have learned after voters handed them an epic loss in November.
Pressley was slammed for seeming to advocate government censorship of the American people and X users quickly called her and her fellow Democrats out for their obvious disdain for Americans.
Even if you try to justify what she said by thinking she meant to quote this differently, there are no substitute words or replacement phrases you could use to say this was not her truth. She meant it. Freudian slip.
