Ex Biden spox KJP pulls a Jake Tapper, cashes in with new book, announces switch to ‘independent’

by

A new book by former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre trumpets a major shift in her party affiliation, and that she is no longer registered as a Democrat.

The departure from the Democrat Party after she served under two Democratic presidents is justified in her upcoming new book, “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines,” which is due out in October.

Jean-Pierre, who served as press secretary for then-President Joe Biden from May 2022 to January 2025, exhorted Americans to “embrace life as independents.”

On a video promotion, Jean-Pierre claimed the book was her “answer” to all the questions she is purportedly asked everywhere she goes about what the country should “do next.”

“Until January 20, I was responsible for speaking on behalf of the President of the United States,” the 50-year-old who also served in former President Obama’s administration, said in a statement Wednesday.

“At noon on that day, I became a private citizen who, like all Americans and many of our allies around the world, had to contend with what was to come next for our country. I determined that the danger we face as a country requires freeing ourselves of boxes. We need to be willing to exercise the ability to think creatively and plan strategically,” she added.

The publisher, Hachette Book Group’s Legacy Lit, described the chronicle as a “groundbreaking, revelatory assessment of America’s broken two-party system.”

“Jean-Pierre didn’t come to her decision to be an independent lightly,” the description continued.

“She has served two American presidents, Obama and Biden. In 2020, she joined Biden’s campaign as a senior adviser, becoming Harris’s chief of staff and then, two years later, White House press secretary. She takes us through the three weeks that led to Biden’s abandoning his bid for a second term and the betrayal by the Democratic Party that led to his decision,” the publisher said.

“In an urgent, timely analysis,’Independent’ urges all Americans to vote their values and maintain individuality within party lines,” the Hachette Book Group added, calling the book a “hard-hitting yet hopeful critique.”

According to Legacy Lit, Jean-Pierre “presents clear arguments and provocative evidence as an insider about the importance of dismantling the torrent of disinformation and misinformation that has been rampant in recent elections and provides passionate insight for moving forward.”
