Idaho bar rewards ICE tipsters with free beer for a month and special deal for self-deportees

by

EAGLE, IDAHO — Only in Idaho could the hottest drink special of the year come with a passport check. The Old State Saloon has ignited a political firestorm—and plenty of cheers on the Right—after launching what may be the boldest promotion in bar history: a full month of free beer for anyone who helps ICE identify and remove illegal immigrants from the state.

The monthlong special, blasted out on social media, is simple enough. Patrons submit photos, videos, or other verifiable information to federal agents. If it leads to an arrest? Boom—IPA on the house for 30 days. The bar didn’t hold back, declaring it “may award multiple months to one person if multiple illegals are deported.”

And in a move that set progressives sputtering, the Old State Saloon even extended a parting gift to lawbreakers themselves: “Any illegal who’d like to self deport may have one free beer before ICE responds to Old State Saloon to pick you up,” the saloon posted on X.

The saga went national when the Department of Homeland Security itself reposted the announcement with a GIF of wide-eyed shock. Instead of backing down, the saloon doubled down, firing back: “Let’s go! Deport them all!”

Cue the meltdown from the Left.

Facebook swiftly removed the bar’s posts. Online activists began spamming one-star Google reviews. The saloon responded the way only a proudly conservative Idaho establishment can—by openly mocking what it called reviews from “the loser LEFT,” complete with screenshots.

If the tone sounds familiar, that’s because bar owner Mark Fitzpatrick is no stranger to culture-war fireworks. Fitzpatrick, known for unapologetic conservative promotions, once declared “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” in direct response to Pride Month—handing out free beer to straight customers. The saloon still brands itself as the “Birthplace of Heterosexual Awesomeness Month,” and sells merchandise emblazoned with slogans like “Make America Straight Again.”

Love him or hate him, Fitzpatrick knows how to get attention—and this time, he isn’t just stirring the pot. He’s serving it on tap.

And yes—the promotion already has its first success story. Ryan Spoon, vice chair of the Ada County Republican Central Committee, earned his free beer after submitting evidence that led to an ICE arrest.

The saloon celebrated the moment like he’d won the Super Bowl: “Ryan Spoon gets free beer at Old State Saloon from now until December 29th! A true American Hero!” they posted, noting he’s welcome to choose from any of the bar’s 20 drafts.

Predictably, critics are calling the promotion everything from “dangerous” to “vigilante.” Supporters, however, argue the bar is simply doing what Washington refuses to do: stand up for American sovereignty and the rule of law.
