The Trump family is making it abundantly clear where it stands on Fox News’ stunning split with Maria Bartiromo.

President Donald Trump weighed in Thursday night, hours after Fox announced that the longtime anchor was out after more than 12 years with the network.

“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump pointed to Bartiromo’s three programs and praised her as a “total professional” and “true warrior,” before predicting that her departure would not go over particularly well with her audience.

“Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy,” Trump wrote.

And he wasn’t the only Trump sounding off.

Eric Trump took to social media with an equally emphatic endorsement.

“Maria Bartiromo is the best interviewer on television,” the president’s son wrote, adding: “This is a huge loss for Fox.”

The reaction adds another layer to what was already one of Thursday’s biggest media stories.

Fox announced Bartiromo’s departure in an extraordinarily brief statement, thanking her for her work over the previous 12½ years and wishing her well.

But subsequent reporting painted a far more dramatic picture.

Status and Puck reported that Bartiromo had shared confidential Fox guidance with senior White House officials after network management instructed staffers not to give credence to claims Trump made involving China and the 2020 election.

Mediaite reported that the episode was the final straw in what a source described as a “confluence of factors” behind her departure.

Fox has not publicly confirmed that version of events, characterizing Bartiromo’s exit as a “business decision.”

Her departure was nevertheless strikingly abrupt.

Fox immediately began removing Bartiromo from its lineup, while her longtime executive producer Patrick Ignozzi also left the company. Mediaite separately reported that Bartiromo had been isolated from colleagues in the weeks preceding the announcement, with even members of her own staff required to go through management before communicating with her.

Bartiromo’s shows are now being renamed and handed to rotating Fox personalities.

But judging by the reaction from the Trump family, Fox may have another problem on its hands: Bartiromo’s audience isn’t necessarily going quietly.

When both the president and his son are publicly telling Fox it just made a huge mistake, this isn’t your standard cable-news personnel shuffle.

Fox says “business decision.” The Trump family says, essentially, what the hell are you doing?

Something tells me we’ve heard nowhere near the last of this one.
