Charlie Kirk’s mother breaks silence on Erika rumors: ‘We were 100% behind her’

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • Charlie Kirk’s mother, Kathryn, has given what Vanity Fair describes as her first media interview since her son’s assassination.
  • She flatly rejected rumors that Charlie’s parents blame Erika Kirk, are feuding with her or objected to her taking over Turning Point USA.
  • People close to Charlie also told the magazine he had made clear before his death that he wanted Erika to succeed him.

Charlie Kirk’s mother has largely stayed out of public view since her son was assassinated.

Now she’s speaking up for his widow.

Kathryn Kirk directly rejected persistent online claims that she and her husband are estranged from Erika Kirk, blame her for Charlie’s death or have battled her over his estate and the future of Turning Point USA.

“We were 100 percent behind her,” Kathryn told Vanity Fair.

She said the shared loss has actually brought the two women closer.

“We knew Charlie in a way that no one else did,” she said.

Vanity Fair reported that Kathryn became emotional while discussing the attacks and conspiracy theories Erika has faced online, saying Charlie would have been deeply upset by the treatment of his wife.

Kathryn’s decision to speak is notable precisely because she has tried so hard not to.

She told the magazine she wants to remain a private citizen and recalled how quickly that privacy disappeared after Charlie was shot at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025.

A TMZ reporter, she said, contacted her before she had even spoken with her daughter.

Her silence, however, created a vacuum that was increasingly filled by online claims about the Kirk family.

One persistent theory held that Charlie’s parents opposed Erika taking control of Turning Point USA.

The reporting says otherwise.

Turning Point board members, Erika and several of Charlie’s close associates told Vanity Fair that Charlie had made his wishes clear before his death: If something happened to him, he wanted Erika to succeed him.

Kathryn said Charlie intentionally kept his parents out of those succession discussions because talking about his death “would just go right into our fears.”

There was a practical reason those conversations were happening.

Charlie and Erika were dealing with mounting death threats and had been working on their will. According to Turning Point board member Doug DeGroote, the couple planned to meet with him to sign the documents the Monday after Charlie was killed.

The night before the shooting, Charlie was also discussing security recommendations with Erika and their pastor, including protective glass and body armor.

Eight days after his assassination, Erika was publicly named his successor.

Turning Point USA now lists her as CEO and board chair.

And according to Charlie Kirk’s mother, there was no secret family revolt behind the scenes.

Quite the opposite.

MY QUICK TAKE

There’s a broader lesson here about the internet’s newest cottage industry: interpreting silence as evidence.

Kathryn Kirk stayed quiet because she wanted to grieve privately. Somehow that became evidence she hated Erika.

Then she finally speaks and says the exact opposite.

The more interesting fact may be the one that got buried beneath all the family-drama speculation: Charlie was receiving enough threats that he and Erika were discussing bulletproof glass, body armor, succession plans and an unfinished will before he was killed.

That isn’t internet sleuthing. That’s the part worth paying attention to.
