Tucker Carlson seemed to express some concerns over President Donald Trump’s recent Middle East trip and some of the negotiations with foreign leaders.
The former Fox News host spoke with his guest, former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan, on The Tucker Carlson Show podcast and discussed the recent deals signed by the Trump Organization to build hotels and resorts in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman.
Ryan praised the president and his administration for getting the border secure and other accomplishments, but said he was “losing hope” about tackling other important goals, such as releasing the Epstein Files. He then turned his attention to concerns about the construction plans in the Middle East.
“F–k it, I’m gonna get blasted for this, but you know, I see all these negotiations going on in the Middle East and then, I don’t know when these buildings were approved or when these deals got done,” he told Carlson, “but then I also see like, oh, there’s a brand new hotel going up in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, and another one going up in Doha.”
“I’m like, did these just get done also with the deals that just happened over there, or was this earlier? You would probably know,” he told the host.
“No, I don’t know. I’ve not made one dollar in the Middle East. Not one,” Carlson asserted.
“I mean, you’re a lot more on the inside than I am,” Ryan said.
“No, no, no, I’m just a visitor and a traveler and watcher,” Carlson noted.
“That stuff kind of worries me,” Ryan contended, prompting some agreement about appearances from Carlson, who added, “Well, it seems like corruption, yeah.”
After a laugh from Ryan, the host of the Shawn Ryan Show went on to note how many in the country have lost the ability to use critical thinking skills.
Earlier this month, Trump undertook a four-day trip to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The Trump Organization reportedly signed agreements to build “a Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubai, a golf resort in Doha with Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund’s real estate arm, a Trump Tower in Jeddah, and a hotel under construction in Muscat,” according to NBC News.
