NJ illegal immigrant accused of snatching 6-year-old girl from her bed and sexually assaulting her

by

BS BULLETIN:

  • New Jersey prosecutors say Lester Noe Perez-Amador, 27, entered a 6-year-old girl’s bedroom through an unlocked window, covered her mouth and carried her away from her Washington Borough home early Saturday.
  • Investigators allege Perez-Amador took the child near railroad tracks and sexually assaulted her. About an hour after she disappeared, the girl made her way back toward home and was taken to a hospital.
  • Fox News reports DHS says Perez-Amador is a Honduran national who entered the United States illegally and was released into the country during the Biden administration.

A horrifying New Jersey kidnapping case has taken an even darker turn after prosecutors filed aggravated sexual assault charges against the man accused of taking a 6-year-old girl from her bedroom in the middle of the night.

Lester Noe Perez-Amador, 27, of Washington Borough, now faces two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, in addition to previously filed first-degree kidnapping and home-invasion burglary charges.

According to investigators, the nightmare began shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Court documents obtained by New Jersey 101.5 say the little girl told police Perez-Amador entered her bedroom through an unlocked window, covered her mouth and carried her out of the house.

Surveillance footage allegedly captured a man carrying the child away and later taking her through a church parking lot while covering her mouth. Investigators say he brought her near railroad tracks, where prosecutors allege she was sexually assaulted.

Then, somehow, the 6-year-old made it back. About an hour after authorities received the missing-child report, police found the girl returning toward her home on foot. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have said Perez-Amador was known to the child but have not publicly detailed their relationship.

A multi-agency investigation involving local police, New Jersey State Police and the FBI led authorities to Perez-Amador. He was arrested within the first 24 hours of the investigation and is being held in the Warren County jail.

Warren County Prosecutor Jessica Cardone praised the agencies involved for moving quickly to find the suspect.

“I witnessed first-hand as all involved agencies worked with focus on one common goal – to bring this child to safety,” Cardone said. “Protecting our children is a responsibility we take very seriously, and our commitment does not end with an arrest.”

Fox News reports the case also has an immigration component.

According to information DHS provided to the network, Perez-Amador is a Honduran national who entered the United States illegally and was subsequently released into the country during the Biden administration. Immigration authorities have now reportedly lodged a detainer against him.

The criminal charges remain allegations, and Perez-Amador is presumed innocent unless convicted. But for one 6-year-old girl and her family, the legal process comes after an ordeal prosecutors say began inside the place where any child should have been safest — her own bedroom.
