TOTAL BS!
Democratic officials are asking Fox News to return Sen. John Fetterman after learning that the Pennsylvania Democrat attended the network’s private corporate retreat in Montana last week.
Fetterman appeared on a panel with Fox News host Dana Perino and former Democratic congressman Harold Ford Jr. during the gathering.
His office says there is nothing particularly unusual about it.
Democrats are trying to remain calm.
“We want to emphasize that Senator Fetterman is still technically a Democrat,” party spokesman Holden DeLine said.
“We checked this morning.”
Fetterman has become increasingly difficult to keep track of.
The Pennsylvania senator has repeatedly appeared on Fox News, criticized Democrats, defended some Trump administration policies and occasionally said things that cause Democratic strategists to stare silently at their phones.
Then he turned up at a Fox News retreat in Montana.
DeLine said party officials first became concerned when they learned Fetterman wasn’t merely appearing on Fox News.
He was voluntarily spending his free time with them.
“Going on Fox is one thing,” DeLine explained.
“Montana requires a plane ticket.”
Fox News has declined to comment on the private retreat.
Fetterman’s office said the senator attended to discuss bipartisanship and the importance of talking with people who disagree with one another.
That explanation reportedly did little to calm Democrats.
“That’s exactly the kind of thing he’s been saying lately,” DeLine said.
Party officials stressed that nobody is accusing Fox News of deliberately keeping Fetterman.
They simply want him returned in approximately the same political condition in which he arrived.
“We’ve put a lot of years into this senator,” DeLine said.
“If Dana Perino could just point him toward Pennsylvania when they’re finished, we’d appreciate it.”
Fetterman, meanwhile, has repeatedly said he remains a Democrat and recently dismissed speculation that he might switch parties.
Democratic officials say they believe him.
Mostly.
Asked what the party would do if Fetterman attends another Fox News retreat next year, DeLine said officials would deal with that situation when it arises.
“We’re putting an AirTag in his hoodie.”
TOTAL BS!
This is satire.
John Fetterman really did attend a Fox News corporate retreat in Montana and really did participate in a panel with Dana Perino and Harold Ford Jr.
Democrats have not asked Fox News to return him. Holden DeLine isn’t real. And as far as we know, nobody has put an AirTag in Fetterman’s hoodie.
