THE DAILY BS: HOW MUCH CAN YOU HANDLE?

SPARE ME THE BS (I’ve got things to do).
- Arizona mother Bella Torres says a stranger grabbed her neck, kicked her 1-year-old daughter and demanded she undress before she fought her way outside.
- Suspect Adrian Ayala’s attorney claimed the encounter was arranged with her husband. Torres denies it; video shows the man failing to answer when she asks her husband’s name.
- Ayala, 20, was arrested within 24 hours and released on a $25,000 secured appearance bond.
LAY IT ON ME (I’ve got time).
The man accused of attacking an Arizona mother and her toddler has an explanation: Her husband supposedly arranged the whole thing.
Bella Torres had a rather useful follow-up. What’s her husband’s name?
No answer.
That awkward silence is part of a frightening confrontation caught on home surveillance video in Buckeye, Arizona. Adrian Ayala, 20, faces charges including sexual assault and burglary after Torres said he entered her home Friday and attacked her.
At his initial court appearance Sunday, Ayala’s attorney described a “giant misunderstanding,” claiming Torres’ husband had drawn him there for a role-playing encounter he believed she had agreed to.
The judge wasn’t buying that as an excuse: “I don’t care if her husband said he could go in there and do that, that’s not a defense.”
Torres says neither she nor her husband knows Ayala. “I’ve never seen this person in my life. Neither has my partner,” she said.
She had been preparing to take her children trunk-or-treating when her husband, dressed as Shrek, left for a nearby store. When the front-door alarm sounded, she initially thought he had returned.
Instead, Torres says, a stranger asked to use the bathroom, then charged at her. She alleges he grabbed her neck, forced her down, kicked her daughter and demanded she remove her clothes.
Torres escaped toward the open door and screamed. The struggle spilled into the driveway, where cameras recorded her fighting back and demanding answers.
“I am on drugs,” the man said in the footage. He also claimed her partner had sent him: “He told me he was into this.”
Apparently, the alleged arrangement covered everything except introductions.
Her husband arrived, ran toward the struggle and the man fled. A relative later recognized Ayala from footage shared online, helping police locate him at his Goodyear home.
Police arrested him within a day. Court records cited by local reporting show he was subsequently released on a $25,000 secured appearance bond. Torres says she is adding cameras and taking further security precautions.
