Paris is burning, Scott Jennings is on fire, and Brian Kilmeade delivers a Rush Limbaugh moment

What happens when a television commentator tries to explain away riots in France as student protests? On Tuesday’s Rush Hour, Ben Ferguson wasn’t buying it. He challenged that description on NewsNation, and the exchange got personal in a hurry. Suddenly, the argument about burning buildings had become an argument about wrinkles. Yes, wrinkles.

President Trump had plenty to say about the chaos in France, including what he says he warned Emmanuel Macron about years ago. And Brian Kilmeade went head-to-head with Congressman Ro Khanna over billionaires, taxes, and the American dream. One moment in that interview reminded me so strongly of Rush Limbaugh that I got chills listening to it.

Meanwhile, Scott Jennings took on a CNN panel over Minnesota politics, prompting me to nominate him for a new job in Washington. Jesse Watters reached back to the Detroit Pistons and Michael Jordan to explain Republican political strategy. And Karolos managed to turn the opening of the NBA season into a discussion about tickets costing more than some people’s mortgage payments.

We also celebrated Snoop Dogg’s birthday, revisited a classic from Foreigner, and discovered that the NFL might have picked a rather interesting moment to bring American football to Paris.

There’s politics, a little music history, some genuinely heated television exchanges, and a few moments I don’t think you’ll hear quite the same way anywhere else.

Rush Hour airs Monday through Friday and moves quickly through the day’s hottest political stories, breaking developments and media absurdities. It is the fastest hour in American media because there is always more happening than the legacy media has time—or desire—to explain.
