Sen John Kennedy makes fellow senator crack up during grilling of pronoun-fixated judicial nominee

by

The Dems are about to lose power, and they are scrambling to do what they do best – ram things through.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), facing an impending 53-seat Republican majority, is vowing to push through as many judicial nominees as he can in a last-ditch effort to pad the benches with uber-leftist judges.

On Thursday, one GOP Senator got a good chuckle out of the latest round of questioning.

United States Magistrate Judge Mustafa T. Kasubhai of Oregon, who has said, “DEI — diversity, equity and inclusion — is the heart and soul of the court system,” was on the hotseat before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kasubhai  was grilled by Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), sitting close by.

Cotton began cracking up over the line of questioning (listen below):

KENNEDY: Judge Kasubhai, I’m looking at an order you issued as a magistrate judge here requiring the use of pronouns in your court. Do you require the use of pronouns? The declaration of one’s pronouns in your court?

KENNEDY: I’m looking at the requirement that you issued to all people in your court. You say, “When you introduce yourself in a meeting, you should say, ‘My name is Judge ___ and my pronouns are ___.'” Is that right?

KASUBHAI: Senator, those were not requirements or rules, those were suggestions and invitations for people to use.

KENNEDY: And you also, in your directive, say, “I’d like counsel to introduce themselves giving your full name and your honorific, such as Ms., Mx,, or Mr.”

Cotton held it together, but almost lost it over the inclusion of the word “Mix” in the judge’s directive and the exclusion of the word “Mrs.”

Honestly, that’s a new one for us, too. We are sensing the next four years will be the most entertaining four years in US history on the Hill. Let’s go!
